Month: May 2011

  • Mother's Day

My Mom always wants me around and treats me like I'm something special. She is always willing to lend a helping hand! I'm not sure what I would have done over this past year without her support.
My Mom was the wife of a grad student once. She understands the time and financial sacrifices that are required to do so. She remembers the loneliness and feelings of being overwhelmed and she has put forth much effort to make this time easier for us.
She loves my children as her own; her joyful spirit and nurturing ways are unparalleled. My girls adore her through and through! My Mom delights in her children and grandchildren and every single one of us feels special around her.
I appreciate her so much. She is one of the most patient, loving women I have ever known. She is just so very sweet.

  • Spring

This morning Mazie had her first on-stage performance at Community Bible Study. When she spotted me in the audience she said, "Hi, Mommy" and my heart just melted. I was all kinds of choked up and sniffling like an idiot in the front row with, get this, my huge-o camera, our video camera and our flip camera. I had three things going all at once. Overload much? Nah. Cute girl had her fingers in her mouth until the very end when she noticed me motioning to her to take them out.

Mazie and the mutant flower-faced children that are in her class.
(I had already put these flowers on them (pretty nice, eh?) when I realized that the video (shown below) would reveal their true identities. Heh. Oh, well, at least Mazie is the only one you look at in this pic. Look at Mazie. Look at my baby!! Ignore the flower mutants, just look at my girl!!)

Also, one of our tulips is just about to bloom!
I wonder what color it will be.

  • Easter weekend, part one

Nate's little sister had a baby shower

Jill was Nate's babysitter back in the day
She has the magic touch with babies

    Mazie was a good helper
(by unwrapping the presents for Lucy)

    Mazie and cousin Malerie

The best picture I could get of the girls in their Easter dresses
    Better luck next year

Taking a swig before Easter breakfast at the church

There wasn't any room for us so we had to sit in the
    Sunday school classroom
    Tiny, tiny chairs
(Whatever happened to "Easter clothes"? Jeans? Kids these days ...)

    Sweet, beautiful Mazie

    Content, adorable Freya
